Dragons are large creatures often described as having the body of a reptile with strong muscles and scaly skin. Most dragons have four legs and a long tail that helps them balance when walking or flying. Their wings are usually shaped like those of bats, made of skin and muscle over long finger-like bones. Dragons also have sharp claws, and large teeth designed for eating meat. Many have horns or spikes along their heads and backs, offering protection
Dragons have organs that are designed for a multitude of purposes to help them survive. Strong stomachs for digestion, an organ to help them breathe fire, and large hearts that pump blood throughout their bodies. Dragons also usually have a gland that allows them to produce fire, either through magical or chemical means. These glands are often located in their throat. Every part of the dragons body helps it survive and thrive as a top predator.
