Player Classes in World of Warcraft

Players are able to choose from a variety of classes that exist in World of Warcraft, these classes fulfill different roles in the game, and allow players to pick and choose their preferred playstyle. Each class in World of Warcraft typically have three specializations that players can choose from, each offering a unique set of abilities that cater to different flavors of the general idea of a class.

Classes
Warrior The warrior class is a tank and melee damage dealer. Warriors are able to pick from Protection, Arms, and Fury in whatever role they want to specialize in. Protection is focused around grabbing the attention of enemies and protection allies. Arms is a master swordsman, wielding a two-handed weapon to deal damage and destroy enemies. Fury warriors excel in using rage and duel wielding two-handed weapons to unleash a flurry of attacks on enemies to rapidly deal damage.
Paladin The paladin class is a holy warrior, guided by the power of the Light, paladins can fulfill the roles of tank, healer, and melee damage dealer. Paladins can choose to be Protection, Holy, or Retribution. Protection paladins focus on tanking and protecting allies through strong defensive abilities. Holy paladins are proficient healers, using the power of the Light to heal and support allies. Retribution paladins are melee damage dealers, wielding powerful weapons and holy magic to smite their enemies.
Hunter The hunter class is a ranged damage dealer focusing on taming beasts as companions to assist fighting with them, and ranged weaponry or spears for personally combat. The specializations that Hunters can choose from are Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, and Survival. Beast Mastery focuses on controlling and commanding beasts to deal damage, building a roster of animals they can utilize. Marksmanship is focused on utilizing ranged weaponry to do as much damage from a distance as possible. And Survival is focused on evasion and dealing damage while remaining hidden, either with a pet or without.
Rogue The rogue class is a stealth based melee damage dealer. Rogues are all about getting the jump on enemies, dealing burst damage to quickly take down targets. Rogues can specialize in Assassination, Outlaw, and Subtlety. Assassination focuses on dealing high burst damage using poisons and stealth. Outlaw is a swashbuckling fighter, utilizing a mix of melee attacks and ranged abilities to bounce around the battlefield, similar to a pirate. Subtlety rogues excel in stealth and deception, striking from the shadows to quickly eliminate targets.
Priest The priest class is focused primarily around being a healer. Priests can be Holy, Discipline, or Shadow priests. Holy priests focus on healing allies and providing buffs, they're extremely useful at keeping other players alive and well. Discipline priests focus on preventing damage by providing shields to allies and healing them should they need it. Shadow priests are proficient in dealing damage and using that damage to heal allies, assisting the party should they need more damage support.
Death Knight The Death Knight class is an undead warrior, they're considered a "Hero" class since when a player chooses to make a Death Knight, they start at a higher level. Death knights can become Blood, Frost or Unholy. Blood Death Knights are tanks that drain the life of enemies to heal themselves and protect allies by keeping enemy attention on themselves. Frost Death Knights are all about using cold icy magic to slay enemies, unleashing a flurry of cold abilities to slow, freeze, and quickly take down foes. Unholy is a master of the undeath, raising undead minions to support him and spreading plagues to deal large amounts of damage across the battlefield to multiple enemies.
Shaman The shaman class is a versatile hybrid class that can fulfill the roles of damage dealer, healer, and support. Shamans are able to be Elemental, Enhancement, or Restoration Shamans. Elemental shamans focus on dealing ranged spell damage using the elements of nature. Enhancement shamans excel in melee combat, using elemental powers to enhance their weapons and attacks. Restoration shamans specialize in healing allies and providing powerful buffs through totems.
Mage Mages are powerful magical damage dealers. Mages can focus on three schools of magic: Fire, Frost, and Arcane. Fire mages focus on dealing high burst fire damage, wielding flashy and powerful spells. Frost mages focus on damaging and slowing multiple enemies with cold magics, as well as using water elementals. Arcane mages do large burst damage, utilizing powerful arcane spells and are able to do long term sustain damage as well.
Warlock Warlocks harnesses dark magic and summons demonic minions to do their bidding. Warlocks specializations are Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction. Affliction warlocks focus on dealing damage over time through curses and diseases. Demonology warlocks excel in summoning and controlling powerful demons to fight alongside them. Destruction warlocks specialize in dealing high burst damage using fire and shadow magic.
Monk The monk class is another versatile hybrid class that can fulfill the roles of damage dealer, healer, and tank. Monks choose to be Brewmaster, Mistweaver, or Windwalker. Brewmaster monks focus on tanking and damage mitigation through the use of brews and agile combat techniques. Mistweaver monks specialize in healing allies using a combination of traditional healing spells and unique chi-based abilities, being able to support and go on the offensive. Windwalker monks excel in melee combat, using swift strikes and powerful martial arts techniques to deal damage and quickly move about.
Druid Druids are a unique class that uses shapeshifting into various forms to fulfill a variety of different roles. Druids are a unique class that have four primary "specializations" that they can choose from. These specializations are Balance, Feral, Guardian, and Restoration. Balance druids focus on dealing ranged spell damage using the power of nature and a "Moonkin Form". Feral druids deal in melee combat, transforming into powerful animal forms to deal damage through combos and damage over time. Guardian druids are powerful tanks, using their bear forms to absorb damage and protect allies. Restoration druids focus on healing allies using a variety of nature-based spells and abilities.
Demon Hunter The demon hunter class is another "Hero" class. Demon hunters have only two primary "specializations" that they can choose from. These specializations are Havoc and Vengeance. Havoc demon hunters focus on dealing high burst damage using a variety of melee attacks and demonic abilities, using a more agile Demon Form to tranform and deal high damage. Vengeance demon hunters are strong tanks, using their demonic abilities to absorb incoming damage and heal themselves to keep in the fight.
